Board Minutes: September 10, 2019

Meeting called to order at 6:15 pm
September meeting featuring Dr. Vo, an internal medicine physician. Dr Nicholo from George Washington will be giving talk at ACOG and will be in town. Will see if Dr Vo is OK with him saying a few words at the meeting – Dr Lynn to check.

Remainder of the meeting dates reviewed. Next meeting is a trivia night. Dr Wood to contact Dr Gross about the event. Plan to hold it at Maggiano’s on the usual night. Tables of 8, prize $600, sign up as teams, spouses invited if they want to pay
No one has signed up for the board review course yet. Dr Wood will create a document to share with new junior faculty and residency directors. Casey to send out flyer to all of us to distribute as well
Treasurer report given. Board voted to move the money from the money market and CD accounts to a high yield CD at 2% interest for 18 months. We will leave $20,000 in checking and put the rest in the new CD
Sponsors for the meeting are Abbvie and Baxter, refer all potential sponsors to Dr Galakatos
Membership status reviewed, yearly dues are coming in quickly recently, Dr Becky Shelton application received but no sponsor forms filled out yet
Discussion about abstract publication from the scientific meeting winners, some winners can not have it published since they are presenting in upcoming conferences and they are not allowed. We will change it so that people have to opt-in for publication
Members encouraged to go on website and update information
Large boxes of old documents retrieved from Met Med Society
Definition of associate member – nurse prac, nurse midwifes and members who haven’t passed their boards yet
